VIRGINIJUS AND KO’s achievements at the international exhibition

On 19-20 June this year UAB VIRGINIJUS IR KO (the Company) took part in the prestigious international plastics recycling exhibition PRS Europe 2024 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The exhibition brought together thousands of professionals and waste management enthusiasts to tackle one of the world’s biggest environmental challenges: plastic waste.

Innovation and Achievements

A company active in non-hazardous waste management since 2001, 2023 In December, the company started recycling polypropylene (PP) bulk bags and is the only company in Lithuania to do so. The unique technology used allows efficient handling of large bags, which are a challenge to recycle both in Lithuania and in Europe.

In the first six months of 2024, the plant exceeded its planned recycling expectations. The orders received and the PP plastic pellets produced have been successfully sold and used in the production of a wide range of new plastic products such as packaging, various parts, building materials, etc.
“We are committed to contributing to environmental protection and promoting the circular economy in Lithuania, and we are delighted with the first results from our plant. Our innovative plastic recycling equipment allows us to produce extremely high quality plastic pellets by recycling waste. With our pellets, manufacturers no longer need to add virgin plastic to their products, or the need for it is minimal. We are delighted to have attracted the interest of the international community in our high quality products at the exhibition,” said Virginijus Skublickas, shareholder and Director of the Company.

Cooperation and Vision for the Future

The exhibition was an excellent opportunity to establish partnerships with other companies and organisations active in the field of plastic assembly and plastic manufacturing. Meetings with potential colleagues from all over the world allowed us to share knowledge and experience and to work together to find solutions that will make the fight against plastic pollution more effective. Cooperation with international partners will not only strengthen the Company’s market position, but will also stimulate innovation in the plastic waste recycling sector. Additional equipment is already being designed that will allow the Company to recycle a wider range of polypropylene and other wastes and to offer the market a wider choice of plastic pellets.

“By making sure that plastics are recycled and reused, rather than burned or landfilled, we are not only contributing to the circular economy, but also strengthening the local economy, creating new jobs and promoting the development of sustainable manufacturing in Lithuania. Our team’s efforts have already proven that we are responsible and reliable partners in the pursuit of sustainable environmental management. We are committed to continue to develop our activities with high standards and sustainability principles,” said Mr V. Skublickas.
